Easter Weekend Recap in My Hometown
Happy Tuesday, y’all! Is it too late for a quick Easter recap? We had such a wonderful Easter weekend and I wanted to share a few pictures with you guys!
On Saturday, we loaded up the Jeep and headed east to my hometown. We spent Easter with my side of the family in Hallsville, TX, and we had the best time!
Fun fact: I grew up out in the country – the house I was raised in sits on 30 acres of land, and my grandmother, aunt & uncle, and cousins all live on the same road!
Anytime we’re in Hallsville, we spend as much time outside as we can. Usually we’re fishing, shooting skeet, or just riding around the property on the Mule. I love, love, love Dallas, and Ryan and I really don’t have a desire to move to East Texas any time soon, but we do enjoy our trips there so much.
On Saturday evening we ordered pizza from our favorite local pizza place, Pizza King. After dinner, Ryan and I drove down to the pond to feed the geese and the catfish – my favorite kind of chores! We also dyed Easter eggs before bed but I forgot to snap a pic! :(
On Sunday, we went to the Easter service at Mobberly, the church I attended when I still lived at home. I LOVE Mobberly - the music, the message, and the way they serve the community. It was so great to be back for a bit.
After church, we headed to my aunt’s house (2 minutes away!) for Easter lunch. The food was fantastic as usual. Seriously, the home cooked meals might be my favorite part about being back in Hallsville. We also got to spend some great time chatting with family and just enjoying the afternoon.
After lunch, we loaded up the car and headed back home to Dallas. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that Ryan had planned a super cute Easter egg hunt for me around the house! He filled the eggs with my favorite candy, “lunch” money (Since I work from home, he’s so sweet about encouraging me to get out of the house during the day and grab lunch!), lottery scratch-offs, and my favorite – notes that said my favorite Maui pineapple wine is on it’s way to the house as I type this. He’s a keeper, y’all.
And, that’s it! See, I told y’all it would be a short recap. I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend. See you back here in a few days for my Mother’s Day Gift Guide - it’s going to be a good one!
